String, thread, and floss are some of the names of products used in these projects. String is a great medium because it comes in a wide variety of colors. String can be used to make projects with neat geometric designs. When making geometric designs the spacing between lines is critical. If lines are not evenly spaced, the project will look sloppy. By taking some extra time and being careful, a great looking project can be made.

Craft and fabric stores will carry a large supply of thread and thin strings, home repair stores usually have supplies of different colored string, army/navy surplus stores have rope, and dollar stores will have rope labeled as "clothesline".

Braided items made with rope make good neckerchief slides, hiking pole decorations, and awards.

These would great to show off at a Blue and Gold Banquet.

These are great projects to make larger for wall hangings, or three-dimensional objects.
