Do you only do enough to get by? Do the minimum needed to finish and get it over with?

Do you work hard on each and every merit badge requirement? Do you try to do a better job of your troop office than the person who had it before you?

Would Michelangelo be a famous artist if his sculptures only looked a little like people? Would Michael Jordon be a famous basketball player if he didn't always try to be better and work harder? The greatest at any activity are the ones that put the most effort into it.

If you only do enough to get by, can you be proud of your accomplishment?

Remember that in the Boy Scout Oath, you promise to do your best. You'll never accomplish much by being average. Make "doing your best" a way of life and see what great things you can accomplish.

2 Corinthisns 9:6 states: "He who sows sparingly will reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will reap bountifully."

Remember, you only get out what you put in. If you only put a little effort into something, don't expect to get a lot out of it.
