You can also find at BG Micro a single-pole, double-throw sub-mini toggle. This is a three-position toggle switch with a 1/4" base. The middle position is off, one position turns on the white LED, and the other position turns on the red LED. The red LED is used at night when you don't want to ruin your night vision (as when viewing stars or meteors).

You will need to poke two more holes in the lid for the second LED, but otherwise assembly is similar. The value of each resistor is calculated separately but in the same way as in the single LED example.
