Cut a "V" notch on the long stick as illustrated.
Shape the middle of the short stick into a "^". Put the two sticks together to check the fit. Adjust the notch as needed to make a snug fit.
Lash the two sticks together.
Use a "C" shaped PVC ring attached behind the short horizontal stick. You can use the cross to shape the ring.
As a craft for a religious retreat we made these crosses about six inches tall and drilled a hole through the top of the vertical stick parallel to the horizontal stick. Then we used about three feet of string or leather lacing to complete a necklace. The boys were to "carry" their own cross throughout the retreat.
