Have you ever been in a race like a running race? Everyone is lined up at the starting line, waiting for the race to begin. You think back to all your training; what you are supposed to do and how the coach told you to do it.

Do you ever wonder if you trained harder than your opponent? You should! Your natural physical abilities have a lot to do with the outcome of the race, but you can't control your natural ability. What you can control is if you are working harder, trying harder, practicing harder than your opponent.

You should always strive to "Do your best" in EVERYTHING you do.

And doing your best doesn't apply just to sports. It applies to your school work, your job, your relationships, and even your faith or religion.

If you always try to do your best, you will never be disappointed in yourself and will have no regrets later on that you didn't try hard enough. You will be rewarded for your hard work.

Sure there are going to be a few people who are better than you, but they serve as goals for us to aim for and an example for us to follow.

So, what about heaven?

I don't know exactly what it takes to get into heaven, but if you always do your best and train harder than those around you, you should be fairly comfortable in knowing that God will be pleased with you. That is, as long as your goal is the glory of God and not the recognition for yourself.

Try harder than most people by learning more about God, doing what God wants, and setting a good example for others to follow.
