This is an easy one. But do not use film canisters if you are going to use it for food products. The reason you don't want to use film canisters for food is because you cannot get the film residue out of the canister. Instead use mini-M&M containers or medicine bottles.
Drill several holes in the lid of the container. Then take along another lid without holes for when you are not using the shaker.
I have also done this for foot powder and it works very well. You can use film canisters for this since you won't be eating the foot powder.
Add a clip art picture or label so there is no doubt what is in the container. You sure wouldn't want to use foot powder instead of sugar! UGH!
